National Testing Agency (NTA) has decided on the NEET UG exam pattern. The NEET (National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test) is conducted for the students who want to take admission in MBBS or another Undergraduate course for medicine. Through the exam, a candidate gets admission to a recognized Dental, BDS, or medical college or institute in India. The government of India (GOI) and the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) have established the National Testing Agency (NTA). The NEET-UG exam has been postponed which was supposed to happen on the 3rd of May. This is the only exam conducted by NTA which is based on pen and paper. The NEET-UG exam pattern is much important for the students if they want to thoroughly prepare for the exam. Even for Direct admission in MBBS Neet UG  Eligibility is Mandatory.


WHAT IS THE ACTUAL NEET UG EXAM PATTERN?


These are the details a student must keep in mind:

What are the numbers of questions? – 180

What are the maximum marks which can be obtained? – 720

What subjects should be prepared for NEET-UG? –Physics , Chemistry and Biology

What is the pattern (type) of questions – Multiple choice questions (MCQ)

What is the number of sections – 3 sections as there are 3 subjects

What are the exam duration and mode of exam – The exam duration is of 3 hours and is in offline mode (on pen and paper)

MARKING SCHEME FOR NEET UG


Every right answer will give 4 marks to a candidate.

1 mark can be deducted if a candidate fails to answer correctly (per question as there is minus marking).

To attend all the questions is not compulsory.

A marked answer cannot be changed so mark one time when you are sure (very important).

If a candidate marks multiple answers, it will be considered a wrong answer. 

Un-attempted questions go neutral as there is no negative marking and no marks gained in the above.

WHAT IS THE QUESTION PAPER PATTERN FOR THE NEET UG EXAM?


The NEET-UG exam pattern consists of the question paper which has given half importance to Biology and the other half to Physics and Chemistry. In total 180 questions, 90 questions will be of biology, 45 will be of physics and the other 45 for chemistry.
